Anyone is Sammamish -Issaquah with deer problems
« on: September 21, 2016, 02:06:31 PM »
I wanted to check if you know anyone that has land with "deer problems" in Sammamish-Issaquah area?  :chuckle:
I have a multi season tag and I'm wiling to split the catch with the land owner.
PM if interested.

They're all deer huggers.   :chuckle:

Hey now, I resent that comment. I live in Sammamish, but the only deer problem I have is that I can never find anything bigger than a spike!  :chuckle:

They prefer to hit them with the cars instead of giving permission to hunt. Last fall I watched a 5x5 huge buck in different backyards the entire summer and somebody hit it with the car by the Pine Lake Park in October. Such a waste.
The rule changed this year, in Unit 454 you can hunt any deer.

You might do better looking out a bit further, towards Fall City, Carnation, Duvall, North Bend, etc.
You will have to work very hard to secure access as most property owners I know have been approached MANY times by folks looking for places to hunt.  Good luck!

That's a good idea, I will try that area too. Is there a lot of public land?

Be careful where you hunt.  It's been illegal to hunt in Sammamish for over 10 years.

That is not correct. It is illegal to discharge a firearm.

In 454 around Fall City, there is not a lot of public land, and it's all firearms restricted I believe, as a heads up. Check the local laws to verify that on your own.
There is some public, not a lot.

Get as high as you can in the fall city area. If you have a map in your GPS that shows private and public land that is very helpful. I lived in Fall City for 25 years and shot many deer on public land near a lake.

Sorry Bob, but your info is not fully correct.  Yes, it's illegal to discharge a firearm there.  However, it is also illegal to "hunt" there.
